QUETTA: Acting Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan Mohammad Ghalib said all-out efforts were being made to curb target killing and kidnapping incidents across the province.

Addressing the 70th passing-out parade at the Police Training College, Ghalib described the target killings, suicide attacks and kidnapping incidents as major challenges.

“Policemen are aware of the province’s law and order situation and the improvement required in strategy to deal with it.” He said police were being adequately trained and equipped with sophisticated weapons and technologies to maintain order.

“It is ironic that police themselves are being targeted by terrorists. But it does not mean that such incidents can hold back the crackdown against them,” he added.

Responding to a query, the acting IGP said progress has been made in investigations related to the suicide attack at the residence of DIG Wazir Khan Nasir.
