Rangers claimed to have arrested five political workers during separate raids. The suspects, according to the Rangers spokesperson, were arrested during targeted raids conducted in Mehmoodabad, Defence and Darakshan neighbourhoods. They were identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Mullah, Farrukh Ahmed alias Pawa, Sajid alias Tanki, Waqas and Afzal. Weapons were also recovered from their possession.

Rangers spokesperson claimed that the suspects belonged to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement - London and were involved in several cases of target killings, extortion, aerial firing and forced collection of hides of sacrificial animals. Further investigation is under way.
In another raid, conducted in Zaman Town, Rangers arrested an alleged street criminal, Ali Raza, and recovered weapons from his possession.
Two members of a six-member gang allegedly involved in house robberies, particularly in Orangi Town, were also arrested during a raid conducted in Surjani Town. The suspects were identified as Irfan and Karim. They confessed to have been involved in several cases of house robberies.
