Punjab: CNG, petrol outlets to stay shut today
Station owners protest against gas outages.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) stations will stage a strike in Lahore and other parts of Punjab on Wednesday to protest against gas outages, while petrol retailers will also close their outlets in sympathy with the CNG outlets.
This was decided at a joint meeting of the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) and All Pakistan Petroleum Retailers Association (APPRA) held at Liberty Market on Tuesday.
APCNGA Vice-President Captain (Retd) Shuja Anwar said that CNG and petrol pump owners would hold a 24-hour strike.
He said that on April 14 the CNG station owners would gather at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and stage a protest rally which would end at the Governor House.
He said the federal government was suspending gas supply to CNG stations which was consuming only 250 million cubic feet per day and instead supplying the gas to independent power producers, fertiliser and textile sectors.
