Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra has recently been victim of harsh critique and online abuse for one thing or another. However, this time, the Quantico star faced backlash for wishing Happy Independence Day to her fans on Tuesday, as many found her manner of wishing 'disrespectful'.
PeeCee shared a Boomerang video on Instagram in which she is seen wrapping a tri-colour dupatta around her neck and waving it with her hands. While many appreciated Priyanka's love for the country, others slammed the actress claiming that she insulted the Indian flag.

Many believed that Priyanka demeaned the flag by wrapping it around her neck as a dupatta. Also, many onlookers trolled the Baywatch star for her attire, saying that she should have wished Independence Day wearing a saree or a salwar suit.
Taking to Instagram, her followers wrote, "Priyanka should apologise for this controversial post."
Another user posted, "By insulting ur nation u r getting publicity...very bad"

However, Priyanka's fans tried to defend her saying that it is just a tri-colour dupatta and not Indian flag. This led to a series of arguments in the comment section between PC supporters and the critics.
"Hey! If you read comments then I want you to know that all these senseless Indians were trying to say bad things about this post.. When a minister does flag hoisting wearing slippers, then that's okay for them.. But when you are making India proud on a global platform and you just wished all of us happy independence day you get targeted for this awful, senseless, baseless reason. I just want you to know that just ignore those uneducated, BJP ke chamchon ko.. You are doing great. Just keep doing what you want and thanks for wishing us," wrote one of her fans on Instagram.
