Four held for selling kites

BAHAWALPUR:
Four people were arrested while 113 kites and chemical strings were seized in different raids in Bahawalpur on Wednesday.

An official of Baghdadul Jadeed police station said a police team raided a shop in Dilawar Colony and confiscated 63 kites and 10 chemical strings. He added the police also nabbed two people identified as Muhammad Asim and Muhammad Hashim for selling kites as the provincial government had imposed a ban on the illegal business.

Meanwhile, in another raid in Himayatian area, the police apprehended accused Muhammad Arfi and Muhammad Shahid and seized 50 kites and chemical string from their possession. Separate cases were registered against the accused.

Meanwhile, district officials initiated a crackdown against petrol pumps and checked measures of the fuel machines. A fuel station located in Sama Satta was raided and during checking, the fuel machine measures were found incorrect.

The officials imposed a fine on the owner of the petrol pump and sent the case to court for further legal action.
