Two extortionists arrested for collecting Rs15 million

The arrested extortionists collected money from residenst of Defence, Clifton , Saddar and Ferozabad areas of Karachi.

KARACHI: DIG South Karachi, Iqbal Mehmood, said on Tuesday that  South Zone police have arrested two extortionists who had collected 15 million rupees from shopkeepers , traders and businessmen.

DIG Mehmood confirmed that the arrested extortionists collected money from the residenst of Defence, Clifton , Saddar and Ferozabad areas of Karachi.

Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) had received over 50 complaints of the group who used the alias Babla Ladla to threaten and extort money from people.

DIG Mehmood said the group has confessed to their crimes and the police are conducting a search operation to arrest their accomplices.

The arrested extortionist will be tried in an Anti Terrorist Court soon.
