One held as tortured child maid recovered in Gujranwala
The seven-year-old girl was subjected to severe torture by her owner and his wife
A man was held after a minor girl working in his house as a maid in Gujranwala was recovered with torture marks and bruises on her body.
According to Express News, the Child Protection Bureau recovered seven-year-old Fazeelat from Qadir's house in worsening condition.
The raid was carried out after neighbours registered a complaint with the bureau, informing them about the torture. A subsequent medical examination of the child confirmed that she had been tortured severely.
Fazilat had been working at Qadir's house for the last three years in Satellite Town where the child was subjected to regular beating.
''They would kick or slap or hit me with a stick or a water wiper'', the seven-year old victim told media.
Qadir is now in police custody, with an FIR being filed against him under the child protection and labour law.
Fazeelat's parents said they had no idea that the girl was beaten since they were not allowed to meet the child and only had telephonic conversations during the last three years.
