AIOU expands research work on gender studies

Gender and women studies attempts to expand the definition and perceptions of existing gender dynamics

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will expand research work on gender studies in order to give academic support to women empowerment.

This was stated by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui while addressing the concluding session of  first-ever national conference on gender studies that was held to promote academic research, relating to women’s role and contribution in the country’s socio-economic development.

Capacity building: Project on gender studies launched at AIOU

He announced they will soon publish a research journal on gender and women studies to promote the cause of women. Such event will be an annual feature, and next year an international conference will be organised to construct and disseminate knowledge so as to enhance respect and social status of women.
