Colours of the nation: Artists celebrate Independence Day
Show will remain continued till August 31

The Colours of Pakistan, an exhibition of 74 art pieces by 34 senior and celebrated artists of the country is underway at the Alhamra Art Gallery. The Nazria-e-Pakistan in collaboration with the Alhamra Arts Council organised the show, which will remain continued till August 31.
Trust’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Rafique Ahmed, said that the purpose of the exhibition was to pay tribute to senior artists of Pakistan and showcase their art under one roof for the audience. “These are the artists who have spent their entire lives perfecting their craft. Their work is yet another indication that we are a peaceful nation,” he said.

Ahmed said that such initiatives do not only showcase Pakistan’s artistic talent and rich culture, but also serve in projecting a soft image of our country.
Artist Dure-e-Waseem, who began teaching at the Punjab University before moving to California, takes inspiration from urban scenes and cities that she has visited in Europe, America and Pakistan. University of Punjab’s College of Art and Design Principal Professor Rahat Naveed Masud is best known for luminous portrait studies and nature inspired expression, often in the medium of pastels.
