LAHORE:
Three suspects were arrested inside the Data Darbar premises on Saturday, hours before former prime minister Nawaz Sharif caravan is due to arrive in Lahore.

The three men made police suspicious when they seen were roaming around the shrine’s area and were unable to prove their identity on inquiry.

One of the suspects, Kamran Khan, revealed during interrogation that he belonged to Bajaur Agency. He was immediately taken into custody and shifted to Lower Mall police station for further investigation.

Strict security measures have been taken in the provincial capital on Saturday as Sharif is expected to visit the shrine of Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh Ali Hajveri, commonly known as Data Darbar, and pay homage there.

Many security personnel in civvies have been deployed across the city to monitor any suspicious person or activity so that an untoward incident can be prevented.
