ISLAMABAD: To mark the celebrations of the 70th Independence Day, Pakistan Railways will run an ‘Azadi Special Train’ as a representation of national unity. The special train, which will be inaugurated by the Railways minister, is scheduled to start its fifteen-day-long journey from Islamabad on 12th August. Azadi train has been decorated with cultural symbols representing all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). The special train will stop at every major station along its way. The train has five galleries and six floats, with each gallery showcasing a different theme such as Independence Movement, sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army, CPEC projects, and human rights violations in the Indian-held Kashmir.
