US military's secret plan to bomb North Korea
Kim Jong Un says they can attack the US base in Guam
American military has already prepared a plan to strike North Korea’s military sites if Donald Trump decides to do so.
This plan involves the use of B-1B heavy bombers accompanied with jets, drones, satellites and aerial refueling warplanes, which will fly from the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, The Independent reported.
Since May, 11 practice runs for a similar mission have been carried out.
“Of the military options … [President Trump] could consider, this would be one of the two or three that would at least have the possibility of not escalating the situation,” retired Admiral James Stavridis, the former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, told NBC.
Guam is 2,100 miles by air to North Korea and has six B-1B bombers positioned there, which were even used in Iraq and Afghanistan.
North Korea says seriously considering plan to strike US naval base
The news of this operation came in as Trump and Kim Jong Un stepped up their war rhetoric against each other. The US president promised “fire and fury” if North Korea did not stop threatening the US. Kim responded by signalling they will attack the US military base in Guam.
“Americans have no reason to worry about an impending war,” said US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
According to NBC, if Trump chooses this attack plan, two dozen missile launch sites along with other facilities will be targeted.
“The Pentagon was prepared for any escalation to violence including an offensive attack or a defensive, retaliatory attack,” said Defense Secretary James Mattis.
