LAHORE: The truck which was carrying explosives in the Outfall Road Blast was registered against two different people, further investigations into the case revealed.

After the explosion, investigation agencies had taken Amanat Ali, a resident of Timber Market, into custody. He told them his truck was in good working condition and still on route from Gujranwala to Lahore to transport goods.  When the record of his vehicle was checked, LEAs found that the truck was originally registered in 1994 against the name of Mehboob, a resident of Renala Khurd. It was transferred against Amanat Ali’s name in 2016. Mehboob’s CNIC card, meanwhile, was also fake.

When LEAs further checked records of Excise and Taxation, they found that another truck was also registered against the number LPT- 7083.  A missing report of the documents of the truck was registered in Shahdara Police Station in 2016.
