UVAS vice chancellor highlighted the importance of breastfeeding and its health benefits

Breastfeeding has a healthy impact on the mental, emotional and physical growth of babies, while also addressing malnutrition issues, said University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice Chancellor Meritorious Dr Talat Naseer Pasha.

He was speaking at a seminar on Sustaining Breastfeeding Together arranged in connection with the World Breastfeeding Week on Monday. The event was organised by the department of food science and human nutrition of UVAS.

The vice chancellor highlighted the importance of breastfeeding and its health benefits. Dean Faculty of Biosciences Dr Habibur Rehman, Dr Nosheen Javaid, UNICEF representative Uzma Khurram and Primary and Secondary Health Care, community health workers and mothers from the local community attended the lectures about the health benefits of breastfeeding for mother and newborns.
