RAWALPINDI:
The city authorities have imposed a ban on the entry of sacrificial animals in the urban areas.

Under the ban, the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals has been restricted to the specified cattle markets set up before Eidul Azha. The decision to ban trading of sacrificial animals had been imposed to maintain cleanliness and avoid waste pollution in the city, officials said.

Squads of town municipal authority will stop cattle traders from walking their animals freely in the city limits, an official said. With Eidul Azha due early next month, traders have started bringing animals from far-flung areas for sale. Meanwhile, Solid Waste Management Company was also finalising plan for handling animal waste after Eid.
