Zubair cites bad governance reason for undeveloped cities in Sindh
Cities in Punjab have developed due to better governance, claims governor
HYDERABAD:
Major cities of Sindh appear to be 30 years behind the major cities of Punjab in terms of development.
Governor Mohammad Zubair said this while speaking at an event in Mirpurkhas district on Sunday. The governor was of the view that the apparent disparity between cities in Punjab and Sindh was due to bad governance in the latter.

"People give examples that Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad and other cities of Punjab have developed a lot and they allege that all the public funds are being spent in Punjab. But this is not true. The cities in Punjab have developed due to better governance," the governor claimed.
All the provinces, including Punjab and Sindh, receive the federal funding under National Finance Commission award, Zubair maintained, adding that voters in Sindh should put pressure on the provincial government of the Pakistan Peoples Party and question it about expenditure of public funds.
The governor recalled that under the Charter of Democracy, the major political parties had decided that they would accept mandate of the elected party. This is the reason why the Centre has not been intervening in governance matters of Sindh, he said.
