I have found The Express Tribune acquitting itself in a remarkable mature manner.

In a country where the literacy level is abysmally low, selling a newspaper can be a challenge.

Selling an English language newspaper? And that too in the face of stiff competition from established names? How Utopian can that be! And yet The Express Tribune has done just that.

Apart from reporting that is verified, facts that are indisputable, it’s the incisive probe and analysis of issues that makes this paper a compelling read.

Investigative disclosures and narratives require a great deal of tenacity-- but a greater degree of responsibility as well. On both counts, I have found The Express Tribune acquitting itself in a remarkable mature manner. Dishing out facts as they are, without spicing and seasoning to suit the mass palate.

The fact that some of the most reputable journalists and political analysts are regular contributors to the The Express Tribune is proof enough of its credibility and standing in the print media today.

The accompanying International Herald Tribune—a smart idea-- gives a very valuable insight into global news giving a balanced, overall picture of world events.

One of the most admirable features of this newspaper however, is its liberal, moderate stance – a badly needed posture in the current environment. Not surprisingly, I find that many youngsters are regular contributors as well bringing in a fresh perspective and an innocence that challenges outdated norms and attitudes.

I wish The Express Tribune all the best in the years.
