Faith healer kidnaps daughter of his follower
Complainant says the accused came to his house in his absence when only his daughter and wife were present
FAISALABAD:
A ‘fake’ faith-healer has allegedly kidnapped the young daughter of his follower from his house in the absence of his father, brothers on the pretext of spiritual treatment in the area of Ghaziabad, Toba Tek Singh.
Police have registered a case under section 365-A of Pakistan Penal Code vide FIR No 333/17 on August 4 on the complaint of Muhammad Younis, father of the abductees.
The complainant told the police that Pir Maqbool Ahmad, a resident of Chak 335-GB of Toba Tek Singhm was a frequent visitor of his house. He said that the faith healer came to his house in his absence on a motorcycle when only his daughter and wife were present.
“My wife went in the kitchen to prepare tea and when she came back neither my daughter nor Pir Maqbool was present,” he added. “I looked around for the accused but he was not found even at my residence and other locations where he dealt with his followers,” the complainant alleged.
Talking to The Express Tribune on Saturday, Police Station Toba Tek Singh Sub Inspector Shoukat Ali Javed said that “We have been raiding various places for the last 5 days to find the accused Maqbool Ahmad.
His house is found locked while he is also missing from the other places where he used to meet his followers daily.”
He further told that as per initial information gathered by the police, the accused Pir Maqbool Ahmad had already married twice and police was making efforts for his arrest. He alleged that his daughter was alone in the house when Pir Maqbool came and abducted his daughter. The police have launched hunt for recovery of the girl.
