Express April 11, 2011

Pakistan on Monday decided to release 89 Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture in response to India releasing 39 Pakistani fishermen.

The Pakistani prisoners released by India reached the Wagah border on Monday.

Rangers were deployed to receive the prisoners which also included two women.

The move cames after Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani visited India and held talks with his counterpart over normalising relations.

Following the talks, Indian prisoner Gopal Das was also released a few days back.

The 89 Indian prisoners will arrive at Wagah border on Thursday.
