PaRRSA woes: PHC reinstates 27 sacked employees
All the terminated employees were experienced and high achievers in their respective departments
PESHAWAR:
Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday issued an order reinstating 24 discharged employees of the Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Settlement Authority (PaRRSA).
The decision was given by a two-member bench of Justice Ikramullah Khan and Justice Lal Jan Khattak while hearing a petition filed by the sacked employees. Advocate Shabbir Khan and Advocate Saadullah Khan gave arguments on behalf of the employees. They contended that even though the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government had approved funds for the employees in November 2016, their clients had been illegally removed from the office.
All the terminated employees were experienced and high achievers in their respective departments, the counselors said, adding that removing them without notice was an injustice to them.
PaRRSA had removed 24 contractual employees in January, citing financial burden on the organisation.
