Punjab Health Department has sought cooperation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to revamp the drug control programme.
It hopes to implement good manufacturing practices (GMP) in the pharmaceutical industry. Punjab Secretary for Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan issued this declaration during a meeting with an ADB mission. The delegation called on the provincial secretary at his office to discuss and explore new avenues of cooperation to develop the health sector in Punjab.
Pakistan to get $600m ADB loans to bolster FX reserves
The delegation also expressed interest in improving minimum service delivery standards in public sector hospitals. It hoped to identify areas of investment which could help identify any existing gaps at public sector hospitals. The meeting decided to draft recommendations for a master plan at secondary hospitals in selected districts of Punjab.
