Millennials spend more than 32 mins on Instagram daily

Instagrammers over the age of 25 spend more than 24 minutes daily using the app.

We all know how addictive the social media can be, and new data to prove this comes from Instagram.

On the first anniversary of Stories, the Facebook-owned app released its time-spent figures for the first time since 2014 showing that millennials are spending more time on the app than ever before.

Instagram Stories more popular than the app it copied from

“With more than 250 million daily users, stories made Instagram a place for people to share all of their moments – the highlights and everything in between,” said Instagram in a statement.

According to the figures released by the company, people under the age of 25 spend more than 32 minutes a day on Instagram looking at photos, videos and memes. Meanwhile, Instagrammers over 25 spent more than 24 minutes-a-day on the app.

Instagram claims that Stories, which copies a popular Snapchat feature, has helped increase the amount of time people spend on the app.

Stories feature is becoming popular among businesses as over 50% of businesses on Instagram produced a Story. “One in five organic stories from businesses gets a direct message.”

Birthday stickers

Instagram on Wednesday also rolled out birthday and celebration stickers. “We are rolling out birthday and celebration stickers in stories to give our community more ways to celebrate any milestone with friends and family,” the company said.
