Development comes hours after PM Khaqan Abbasi met Nawaz Sharif in Murree
ISLAMABAD:
The oath-taking ceremony of the federal Cabinet, scheduled to be held at 5:30pm in Islamabad on Wednesday (today), has been postponed.
“Today’s (2nd August, 2017 at 5:30pm) oath-taking ceremony of federal cabinet is postponed. Inconvenience is regretted,” the Press Information Department (PID) said in a statement.
Abbasi likely to retain Nawaz’s ministers
The postponement of the ceremony came hours after newly elected Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met Nawaz Sharif in Murree, where the former premier is staying with his family after the Supreme Court last week disqualified him over failure to disclose receivables as an asset.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also present during the meeting.
