JI parliamentary leader Dr Waseem Akhtar demanded this in a resolution and contended that according to the constitution, only public representatives are dealt with under articles 62 and 63. Under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution, a person cannot qualify as a member of the national or provincial legislatures if he is not ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ (truthful and trustworthy).

Meanwhile, Dr Akhtar also submitted an adjournment motion, demanding strict action against transporters who are still charging 100% fare from differently-abled people. He contended the government had issued a notification regarding fares for differently-abled people and transporters were directed to charge them half of the regular rate. He said that department concerned was merely acting as a silent spectator while the transporters were violating the notification.
PTI moves against AJK PM
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the registration of a treason case against Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Farooq Haider and asked for his immediate arrest. This was in reaction to a controversial statement he made about Kashmir’s association with Pakistan.

The demand was made in a resolution submitted by PTI’s legislator Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqi in the Punjab Assembly. The resolution stated the house strongly condemned the statement as it was tantamount to demoralising his people, especially those who lost their loved ones for the cause of Kashmir.
Siddiqi said the house paid tribute to those who shouted the slogan “Kashmir banay ga Pakistan”. He said the House admits that Farooq’s government was the result of poll rigging in AJK. He said the people of Kashmir and Pakistan have strongly condemned the controversial statement.
