Chief minister says nation well on the road to development
Shehbaz claims Imran only interested in coming to power through backdoor
LAHORE:
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said development and overall public welfare is the direction the nation is headed in.
“We are moving towards making Pakistan the country envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal,” the CM stated. He added those claiming to create a “new Pakistan” had left no stone unturned to obstruct the national development process. “Conspiracies and negative politics are their true objective.” He said Imran Khan had no interest in development and coming into power through the backdoor was his only goal. He asserted conspiracies and negative politics will bring nothing but humiliation.
Shehbaz Sharif advised to stay put in Punjab
“The tenure of Nawaz Sharif was filled with public service, transparency and trust. Development projects started during this time period were symbols of development and progress.
He added mega projects being completed across the country are providing relief to the people. “Opponents are perplexed that the fruits of development are reaching the doorstep of the public. Nawaz Sharif is a popular leader and he lives in the hearts of the population.”
Shehbaz stated the journey of development will continue at an accelerated pace and political elements opposing progress and prosperity are going to face defeat in the 2018 elections. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the chief minister said his brother lives in the hearts of 200 million people. He said the targets of the former prime minister and PML-N leader will be achieved at an accelerated rate.
Shehbaz set to step into Nawaz's shoes
Shehbaz asserted development projects worth billions and trillions of rupees served as an example due to their transparency and quality. The CM said that those who have showed no performance in their province were bent upon making a new Pakistan, He added people were fully conscious and well aware of the conjurers.
The CM said public service was a pivot of his politics and he vowed service to the people till his last breath. “The journey of development will achieve its goals its despite the obstacles,” he added.
Turning his attention to CPEC, Shehbaz said the multibillion rupee initiative was a historic achievement and several energy projects had been completed under it.
He said these projects had sufficiently decreased load-shedding and improved employment prospects.
