Price control: Effective mechanism devised

ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has devised an effective price control mechanism through the magistracy system in Islamabad.
Regular price checking is being conducted by the magistrates keeping a strict watch over the items of daily use.
This was stated by Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Tariq Mahmood Pirzada while addressing the 37th batch of the trainee DMG officers of the Civil Services Academy, Lahore who visited the office of the chief commissioner here.
The chief commissioner briefed the officers about the organisational setup of the administration and its functions and duties.
He informed them that the administration was created in 1980, having a provincial status and is being run through the magistracy system.
He added that the magistracy system has provided effective price control mechanism and price fixation on the daily basis and the magistrates were conducting regular price checking in Islamabad to curb the profiteering tendency and ensure the availability of food items at controlled rates to the consumers.
Presently there are five sub-divisions in Islamabad and 14 police stations are functioning.
