Imports, trade deficit have crossed all limits pushing country to brink
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders (ICST) lauded the decision of the government to provide Rs15 billion to the textile sector under the PM’s package.
The textile sector is the mainstay of the economy, which must be supported, and the decision will infuse confidence in this sector, which continues to lose competitive edge in the international market, it said.
SHC orders police to provide 'adequate security' to trader
The government should try full implementation of the package and resolve the issues confronting textile sector, said ICST Patron Shahid Rasheed Butt. He said that the decision to release Rs15 billion by August 14, is laudable and it should be implemented within time.
Butt said that the exports have been sliding since years while imports and trade deficit have crossed all the limits pushing the country to the brink.
