“The PPP has no objection if Nisar takes over as the next prime minister,” he said
Pressing the Supreme Court for early announcement of a verdict by Imran Khan is unjustifiable, he said.
Speaking in an Express News programme Kal Tak, he said: “We must let the Supreme Court when it wanted to announce its decision … I don’t think that the judgment can be announced this week … Most probably, it will be announced next week. Even if the SC decides to announce the decision this week, they will (likely) defer it after the appeal (filed) by Imran Khan.”
PPP wants PML-N govt to complete tenure: Shah
Answering a question whether it was correct for the political leadership to direct the court, he said: “When all the parties (concerned) have finished their arguments, they should not try to tell the court about unrest on national level because the nation is not experiencing restlessness. Instead, politicians are nervous. The (apex) court will not defer the decision for a month or two. The case will not last long. Maybe, they (are going to) announce the decision next week. The court will soon decide in this regard.”
He said: “Nawaz Sharif is lucky to have become the prime minister for the third time. It seems he will not retain his office till August 14 this year. He will not unfurl the national flag as the prime minister. One can see that PML-N’s lawyers and leaders have damaged institutions. Towards the end, they directly alleged that the army wanted to remove the PML-N … I do not believe this is true.”
Nawaz Sharif, he said, was responsible for all chaos “because he initiates all this”.
Khursheed Shah still has KESC worker’s mentality: interior ministry
“Dawn Leaks emerged from the PM House. The same media team is (still) working (there). Actually, this is Musharraf’s media team. They betrayed Musharraf, then the Q-League and why will they truly support Nawaz Sharif now.
He said that there was no contact between Imran Khan and himself.
“N-League has no other enemy but itself. There will be criminal proceedings against the PM. Nawaz Sharif has still got time but he is inflexible and suffers for this. People will not support him and he will be left alone.”
“Whenever, there is a threat to the system, PPP will always protect the system. I (had) told Nawaz Sharif in 2014, when the PM wanted to provoke the parliament, that he should ‘let the parliament take on the container. Parliament will defend itself. You should call a joint session and when it was called, you see everything became clear. Therefore, we are with democracy and parliament.”
