The management of the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has suspended a member of its radiology department on harassment charges.
The hospital has also directed all department heads to ensure that a female staffer or a family member with female patients. The move came as the hospital’s management constituted a committee to investigate allegations that a radiology staffer molested a female patient at the facility last week.
Officials stated that a case has already been registered with the local police but the hospital management wanted to conduct its own inquiry so that departmental action can be taken if the staffer is found guilty.
“All heads of departments of this [LRH] institution are requested to ensure the presence of female technician with a female patient or an attendant of the patient while performing any procedure including diagnostic, therapeutic procedures,” a notification issued by the LRH administration read.
