HYDERABAD: Two men were axed to death in separate incidents in Sujawal and Matiari districts.

A man allegedly axed his elder brother to death reportedly over grazing of livestock animals. The incident took place in Sujawal district.  According to SHO Muhammad Tayab Mallah, Muhammad Aslam Otho allegedly killed his elder brother, 35-year-old Abdul Wahid Otho, after a quarrel. The suspected killer escaped after the incident.

The SHO said Abdul was taken to taluka hospital Sujawal, from where the doctors referred the critically injured man to Karachi. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Abdul's body was later handed over to the family after post-mortem. The police have yet to lodge an FIR.

In another incident in Khanote village in Matiari district, a man was axed to death over an old enmity. The suspect, Bashir Maachi, attacked Pathan Maachi, a middle-aged peasant, with an axe outside his residence and escaped.

The aggrieved family and residents of the area held a protest along with the body and blocked both sides of the National Highway. The protest ended after Hala police DSP Pervez Akhtar Qureshi assured them that the accused will be arrested. The DSP said the suspect has been booked in around 20 cases.
