Ancelotti not afraid to drop Torres
The striker has yet to score for Chelsea in nine matches since his £50million switch from Liverpool.
LONDON:
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said he is not afraid to drop Fernando Torres for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg at Manchester United.
The striker has yet to score for Chelsea in nine matches since his £50million switch from Liverpool.
Ancelotti has been criticised for keeping Torres on the field in the 1-0 first-leg defeat by United in the first-leg encounter.
The manager insisted that he will select the best possible line-up for the match.
“Fernando might not start against United, of course,” said Ancelotti.
“Why not? I have to choose the best line-up. There’s a lot of competition up front and anything can happen. Fernando knows this very well.”
