CHARLESTON:
World number one Caroline Wozniacki rallied to reach the semi-final of the Charleston WTA tour event, clawing her way past Belgian Yanina Wickmayer.
Wozniacki won the last four games of the encounter to notch the 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 quarter-final win.
The Dane next faces either third-seed Jelena Jankovic or Christina McHale.
In other action, China’s Peng Shuai defeated India’s Sania Mirza 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Peng will face either Russian Elena Vesnina or Germany’s Julia Goerges.
