Budget 2017-18: Kohat district govt presents Rs4.198b budget
Rs35.85 billion has been allocated for paying salaries of government employees

Kohat District Nazim Nasim Afridi on Friday presented a Rs4.19 billion budget for the district for the fiscal year 2017-18.
Addressing a meeting of the district council, Afridi said that Rs35.85 billion has been allocated for paying salaries of government employees, while Rs23.9 billion have been allocated for other expenditures.
Afridi explained that in the previous fiscal year, Rs33.3 billion was allocated for development projects in the district. Of this, Rs28.3 billion had been provided by the provincial government.
By contrast, Afridi said that in the current fiscal year, Rs37.8 billion would be spent on various schemes outlined by the Planning and Development Department.
Presenting details of the budget, he said that 10 per cent of the budget would be spent on improving the health sector, 20 per cent on education, and 55 per cent on institutions working under the district council.
