LTC organises training session on road safety

Training session will sensitise transport workers on observance of traffic laws

LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has organised another training session for drivers, fare collectors and other field staff of low-occupancy public service vehicles on Thursday.

The training session was organised at Thokar Niaz Baig for route 141 staff, which was carried out by the officials of the City Traffic Police and Motor Mobile Patrolling Inspector of the LTC Enforcement Wing. Experts emphasised on observance of traffic rules and regulations and service providers conduct with commuters on the roads and safe driving.

They also stressed on the observance of traffic laws, avoiding reckless driving, following signboards and necessary indications on flag posts for public service vehicle drivers plying of vehicles on designated route, possessing necessary documents, including route permit and fitness certificate to drive the vehicle, holding of public service vehicle license, vehicle registration book, changing of lanes, intersections apart from this before running the vehicles the doors must be locked properly and to maintain distance from other vehicles on the road is also included in the training session.

The company is organising a series of training programmes in collaboration with private transport operators to raise awareness among transporters for better public facilitation.
