KARACHI:
More than 5,000 cases are pending before the Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) working in Sindh and the government has decided to appoint 400 new public prosecutors to pursue these cases, said Law Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, while talking to the media after chairing a meeting.

Lanjar said that shortage of public prosecutors was delaying the cases. He said that ATCs are working in the province and the government is taking strict measures to provide security during the hearing of high-profile cases in these courts. The home secretary, jails IG, prosecutor-general and officials of the law department also attended the meeting.
