South Indian actor Archana Galrani, who is better known by her stage name Sanjjanaa,  is all over the internet for a explicit scene in her recent release Dandupalya 2.

While the intense scene from the film did not get a green signal from the censor board, it made it to YouTube, sparking social media uproar, India.com reported.

The actor, who made her film debut in the Tamil film Oru Kadhal Seiveer, shot to fame after her controversial role in the Kannada film Ganda Hendathi. She is quite known for her bold acting.

In Dandupalya 2, too, Sanjjanaa, shot an apparently nude scene for a critical sequence in the film. It appears in the film when she faces physical torture in prison. However, she is actually wearing skin tight clothes and rest are visual effects.

On this whole ‘Sanjjanaa going nude’ controversy, a senior filmmaker who runs a VFX studio said, “In Hollywood, we are seeing actors going completely and originally nude for such scenes. But our film industries, society, and mindset of people are yet to mature to such level. Nudity is a strict no-no for us.”

Sanjjanaa, in a statement to Public TV on the viral video, said it was an unfortunate incident. She added, “We are figuring out who is behind the leak and will give a complete clarification once director Srinivasa Raju, who is in Hyderabad ahead of its Telugu release, returns to Bengaluru.”

The Kannada film, which is a sequel to 2012 movie Dandupalya that starred Pooja Gandhi in the lead, is doing really well at the box office just as the first one did.

On speculations that the video was a publicity stunt, Sanjjanaa responded, “Dandupalya is already doing well. So, there is no need for such publicity. We shot something and I am seeing something else here.”

Ever since the film has been released, it has been followed by one controversy after another. The film is about a notorious gang from Dandupalya, a place located in rural Bengaluru. Reportedly, the third part of the film will be released later this year.
