Textile Sector: Committee concerned over exports
Committee expressed its reservations over closure of 40% industry
ISLAMABAD:
The Standing Committee on Textile Industry has expressed concern over the decrease in the country’s exports due to non-provision of sales tax refunds.
The committee also showed apprehension on non-availability of basic facilities in textile sector, which resulted in increase in trade deficit between import and export. The meeting held on Tuesday was chaired by MNA Khawaja Ghulam Rasool Koreja.
Cotton industry: ‘Reduction in insurance charges to benefit ginners’
The committee was informed that the textile sector was facing difficulties in improving exports, which needs to be addressed in order to improve the performance of the sector. The committee expressed its reservations over the closure of 40% industry.
