ISLAMABAD:
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has postponed all his official activities reportedly due to a severe back pain.

It is learnt that Nisar has been advised by doctors to take complete rest. Due to the backache, the minister was unable to attend office on Tuesday to perform official duties and took rest at home.

According to sources in the Ministry of Interior, Nisar was not feeling well when he attended his office on Monday. They said while leaving the office, he was in such a pain that he could hardly get into the vehicle that dropped him home.

Nisar has been missing from the scene since the Panamagate JIT report went public, causing a political uproar across the country. And this has given rise to a lot of speculations.

There have been reports of a rift between Nisar and other senior PML-N leaders. He is also reported to have “spoken his heart out” – against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif – during the cabinet meeting held in the wake of the submission of the JIT report to the Supreme Court.

Nisar rebuts fellow minister’s remarks

The interior minister has, however, snubbed at least thrice the statements attributed to him regarding the cabinet meeting.

He was also supposed to hold a press conference, conceivably in the backdrop of the Panamagate case and the statements being attributed to him.

Nisar is thought to be a close aide of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and is also considered close to the military establishment.

It is worth-mentioning that the minister, who otherwise advocates his party on several forums, was not available to the media after the submission of JIT report to the apex court.

The report carrying findings of the probe into the offshore wealth of the ruling family gave a huge reputational damage to the PM.
