ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is mulling plans to relocate a garbage dump from Sector I-12. National Assembly Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and PHA Chairman Malik Ibrar told the Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz that locals were perturbed by waste being dumped in the sector and encroachments along IJP Road. Aziz said that keeping in view the problems faced by the residents, they would soon relocate the site apart from making sure that it would not disturb the public in the future.
Moreover, to expand the sanitation system into the rural areas of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC), they would establish a modern Solid Waste Management System in the city.
