Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) legislator Dr Waseem Akhtar demanded that the military leadership should also be invited to the APC to devise a comprehensive strategy to deal with the issue. In his resolution, Dr Waseem said that the House protests against the indiscriminate firing of Indian forces, which claimed the lives of four Pakistan Army soldiers in Athmuqam, Azad Kashmir.

Opposition leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed of the Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also submitted an adjournment motion against the government’s failure in using foreign loans for the purpose they were acquired.
Rasheed said the Punjab government had received more than Rs41 billion in loans so far, but had failed to use them properly for the betterment of the public. So far, only 44 per cent funds have been utilised while the secretaries and officials of the concerned departments continue to brief the chief minister that everything was working fine. Rasheed said the funds could be spent in irrigation, energy, transport and other departments for the welfare of the masses.
Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s (PML-Q) Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal, in his adjournment motion said development schemes were being delayed because the Punjab government was not releasing funds.
He added it was regrettable that a budget of Rs140 billion could not be issued, which had caused delay in completing important projects. An amount of over Rs2 billion was been set aside for emergency services but only Rs1 billion were released. He asked the Punjab government to release the funds.
Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Mian Khurram Jahangir Watto submitted another resolution, demanding that a test should be made compulsory for all school, college and university students to ensure they did not use drugs.
“The test is important to identify students who use drugs and our aim is to make our society drug-free,” the resolution read.

PML-Q’s Dr Muhammad Afzal submitted his adjournment motion against the problems faced by retired district government employees in receiving their pensions every month.
Malik Taimoor Masood of the PTI submitted an adjournment motion against the lack of facilities for teachers in government schools while PTI legislator Nabila Hakim Ali Khan submitted a motion against quacks.
She submitted that the health care commission had failed to deal with quacks and patients were left paralysed after using substandard medicines.
