The lawmaker passed away on June 25 at the age of just 42 due to heart attack
ISLAMABAD:
The Upper House of Parliament on Monday passed a condolence resolution to express sorrow over the sad demise of treasury member Senator Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani.
Durrani, who was elected from Balochistan in 2015 on the PML-N ticket against a seat reserved for technocrats and ulema, served as chairman of the Senate’s Functional Committee on Government Assurances.
The lawmaker passed away on June 25 at the age of just 42 due to heart attack. He was fighting a blood-clotting disease. He left behind a wife and four sons aged between 2 and 16.
“The Senate of Pakistan has lost one of its young and dynamic legislator who was passionate, conscientious, and hardworking and approached parliamentary business with a youthful enthusiasm and zeal,” said the resolution read out by Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq.
Earlier, Senate also held a condolence reference to pay tribute to the late lawmaker, and the business was suspended for a day in line with the tradition of the house.
“It’s a great loss to this house. He was full of life and had a long political career. He hailed from a province that is deprived,” remarked Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani while paying tribute to the lawmaker.
