Medical Universities: Over 33,000 to sit in entrance tests

PESHAWAR:
Over 33,000 students are hoping to gain admission to medical colleges in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. According to a statement issued by the Khyber Medical University on Monday, registrations for entrance tests for public and private medical and dental college of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have been completed. This, as many as 33,027 students have registered. Of these, 5,454 had applied last year as well. Last year, around 27,573 students applied for admissions to medical colleges. By comparison, this year there has been a 20 per cent rise in the number of students who registered for the entrance tests. Of the 33,027 students, 20,026 are boys and 13,001 are girls. In Peshawar, students will attempt their tests at two centres which will accommodate maximum students, 18,161 students.
