LAHORE:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s game is over since the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report has been made public and with today’s hearing in the Supreme Court, the countdown to de-seat Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also begun, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Opposition Leader Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed.

Speaking to journalists in the Punjab Assembly on Monday, the PTI leader said that the nation was united against corrupt politicians who looted the country on the pretext of democracy.

Rasheed said that Punjab CM Shehbaz was associated with his private businesses while he was holding a public office. “There is a great conflict of interest in his actions,” he said.

Shahbaz had given precious gifts of whopping Rs6 billion to his brother – the premier Nawaz Sharif, Rasheed said, adding that the final report of the Panama JIT had categorically pointed out that there was a great disparity in the income and assets of the ruling family.

As the director of the Hudaibiya Paper Mills, Shehbaz had made $8 million through money laundering and every development project in Punjab is marred by corruption, the opposition leader said. “The day is not far when Shehbaz will also be de-seated like his brother over corruption charges,” he added.

The PTI leader said that Prime Minister Nawaz’s time was over now and his departure was definite.

Speaking about PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s case, he said it was a false case because the ruling party believed that they could blackmail Imran by dragging him in bogus cases.

Rasheed said that they (Imran’s opponents) would have to face defeat in the court of law. “Patwaris will have to face great embarrassment when the top court announces its verdict against the Sharif family in money laundering and corruption charges,” he added.
