FBR to clear refund claims worth Rs1m

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), during next two working days, would clear refund claims of Rs1 million by making payments against 6,853 Refund Pay Orders (RPOs) issued by April 30, 2017. Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar visited FBR headquarters on Saturday and presided over a ceremony of payment of sales tax refunds. The next part of refund commitments would be fulfilled by making payment against RPOs amounting to more than Rs1 million by August 14. Initially, payments against RPOs involving amount up to Rs1 million were to be paid by July 15, 2017; and in the second stage refund against RPOs of amount more than Rs1 million would be paid by August 14, 2017.
