Pakistani stunner Mahira Khan attended the 8th Beirut International Awards Festival and was awarded two awards, one for the Best Dressed for the night and the second for International Recognition. Sporting a white Nicolas Jebran backless couture gown, the starlet looked ravishing and with her hair swiped to one side with minimal make-up and jewellery, she looked like a million bucks. We couldn’t be more proud!
Farhan Saeed to take part in the next season of Coke Studio
It’s official! Farhan Saeed is all set to appear on the next season of Coke Studio and we can’t wait. His videos started going viral following his successful concert in Mauritius earlier this month and fans are wanting more. His blockbuster hit song Thodi Der has already crossed 30 million views on YouTube and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us on Coke Studio.
Perrin Paris X Zaha Hadid
Perrin Paris is a leather goods company known for combining fashion and jewellery to form a statement accessory; their brand signature being the clutch glove. With this, artisans have collaborated with Zaha Hadid design to reveal a collection of seven clutches integrated with three different sculptural metal glove-pieces.
Malala finishes school and joins Twitter
Nobel Peace Laureate Malala Yousufzai completes her schooling in Britain and joins Twitter, attaining over 147,000 followers in just three hours. She has already been offered a place to study at the prestigious Oxford University where she will be pursuing her degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. We wish her luck for her future plans!
Ronaldinho comes to Pakistan!
A group of renowned names from the world of football made their way to Pakistan with the vision to stir the football scene in Pakistan. The group including the legendary Ronaldinho, Robert Carlos, Ryan Giggs and Nikolas Anelka landed in Islamabad in a private jet. They played a series of exhibition matches in Karachi and Lahore and we loved watching them on the field doing what they do best!
Natasha Kamal wins big at Torino Fashion Week
Pakistan’s very own, Natasha Kamal has been awarded the 1st place luxury award by special jurors from LVMH and Sommet Internationale de la mode (SIM) at Torino Fashion Week. The collection featured subtle prints, elegant silhouettes and a minimalist colour palette with some pops of colour. We couldn’t be more proud. You go girl!
Legendary Abida Parveen collaborates with Asrar Shah
The iconic Sufi singer Abida Parveen has recently collaborated with Asrar Shah for a musical comedy called ‘Rangreza’. The teaser of the song ‘Phool Khil Jayein’ has recently been shared by Bilal Ashraf who will be starring in the video alongside Urwa Hocane. We can’t wait to watch this much –awaited musical collaboration!
Abdul Sattar Edhi’s death anniversary
A year ago on July 8, Pakistan lost its most dedicated social worker and philanthropist, Abdul Sattar Edhi. Twitter and other social media platforms were abuzz with tributes to Edhi. Not only was Edhi an asset for this country, but for the whole of humanity because of his selfless work. “Edhi dedicated his life for the welfare of the poor irrespective of their caste, class and creed and that’s what makes him an asset for the whole universe,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said.
