PTDC upgrading facilities, says MD
Urges keeping the organisation under federal govt for administrative ease

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is working on expanding tourism subsectors related to sports and fine arts, PTDC MD Ch Abdul Ghafoor Khan said on Friday.
Talking to PTV News, he said that existing PTDC motels are getting upgraded, adding that as yet unexplored scenic locations are being selected for constructing more motels.
"There are numerous places in Pakistan where tourist facilities can be developed and PTDC would play a pivotal role in this regard.
"We are in the process of finalising agreements with international airlines and hospitality training institutions to improve tourist access and improve human resource base of tourism sector in the country," he stated, adding that tourism-related bachelor's degree programs will be offered to students in the near future.
He also informed media persons of the soon-to-be-launched Islamabad City Bus tour service, adding that Chakwal has been declared a model tourist district.
He also urged the prime minister to keep PTDC under the federal government and to include the tourism sector in the National Development Plan.
