In view of the deteriorating security situation of Balochistan, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has ordered comprehensive monitoring at entry and exit points of Punjab.

He said all necessary steps should be taken to ensure the protection of the life and property of the people.  “Police and other law enforcement agencies should work more diligently and efficiently to ensure law and order,” he said.

While issuing directions to the provincial Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Shehbaz Sharif said full attention should be paid to the security of mosques, imambargahs, churches and other places of worship. He ordered regular monitoring of the security plan.

“Similarly, combing and search operations should be accelerated in the province and no stone can be left unturned for the protection of life and the property of people. The cabinet committee on law and order should regularly monitor security arrangements.” He said indiscriminate action must continue against publishers and distributors of hate material.

The CM stressed that the law banning the use of loudspeakers should be implemented vigorously.

Besides this, additional staff should be posted at important buildings, bazaars and marketplaces and every necessary step should be taken to ensure general safety.

The devised security plan should be implemented 100% and an indiscriminate crackdown should continue against elements involved in street-crimes, the CM added.  “The present situation requires emergency steps and everybody should perform their duties diligently and actively to thwart the nefarious designs of anti-state elements,” concluded Shehbaz.
