Anti-corruption officials arrested two employees of forest department over corruption charges in Rajanpur.
'Corruption remains a systemic problem in Pakistan'
An official of the anti-corruption department told The Express Tribune that Forest Officer Bashir Ahmed and Forest Guard Aijaz Ahmed were involved in selling wood from Thal Forest in 2010. He added, “The accused sold wood worth millions of rupees in connivance with higher officials.” He maintained, “We are also tracking other officers who were involved in this scam.”
Irregularities in draw: Anti-corruption officials seize record of housing scheme
The official pointed out that a case had been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.
