ISLAMABAD: Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is only left with the option if stepping down.

Speaking to media, the PPP leader said that after the JIT report the premier should shun his traditional attitude and quit his position in the larger interest of the nation.

He said that Nawaz should discard suggestions forwarded by his ministers and advisers to avoid further damage.

“Sharif family never saw any accountability and the action of the Supreme Court has sifted truth from falsehood,” he added.

Shah said that stunning facts have been unearthed by the JIT report and these documented facts cannot be denied.

“Decision to requisition the session of upper house of parliament will be made after I meet Shah Mehmood Qureshi,” he said.

Shah said that so far contacts have been made with Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sirajul Haq, Ghulam Ahmed Bilorur, Farooq Sattar, leadership of PML-Q, Shah Ji Gul Afridi and others.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had earlier on Tuesday tasked the PPP leader to approach other political party heads to devise a future strategy.
