Punjab to release 50% of its water to other provinces
Sindh will now be receiving 45,000 cusecs of water.

The Government of Punjab announced on Friday that from now on the province will give 50 per cent of its water to other provinces.
As a result, Sindh will now be receiving 45,000 cusecs of water.
The decision was reached during a conference of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) which was headed by Rao Irshad who is the chairman of IRSA.
Irshad pointed out that Punjab currently had the capacity of only 33,000 cusecs. However, he stated that the expected rainfall in the next 48 hours would help in meeting the set target.
The chairman also commented that Jhelum and Chenab rivers are expected to fulfill the IRSA's requirements by Aril 20.
